In Motion and Momentum+ is a new program that helps you begin to move in a way that feels good, taps into your full potential and create the life you want to live.
We could not be more excited that recently OILRC was selected to facilitate the premier of In Motion and Momentum+: a new program that is for people who have significant potential for success in their lives. This research-based program is especially useful for those who, for one reason or another, may have been stuck or feeling like they’ve been moving in a direction that is not right for them. Each workshop was developed on the premise that participants deserve respect and admiration – to have made it to where they are now, they are resilient, adaptable, creative, flexible, courageous, innovative and skilled. They are the experts on their own life and the architects of their own future.
We are seeking to identify participants who may benefit from taking part in this new experiential program that supports clients who are at a pre-employability stage in their careers. This program, In Motion and Momentum (IM&M), addresses foundational pieces that facilitate positive changes in participants lives, such as:
- Belief in self
- Self-efficacy
- Motivation
- Hope
- Skills
- Sense of contribution
- Pride
The program has three parts:
IN MOTION is a 3-week program (3 days per week; 6 hours each day). This first part of the program is about:
- Better understanding what’s most important to them;
- Knowing the skills, strengths and supports that participants already have;
- Building and extending their skills, strengths and supports; and
- Shaping a vision for participants life that feels exciting, right and possible.
MOMENTUM is a 4-week program (4 days per week for the first 3 weeks and 3 days in week 4; also 6 hours each day). This second part helps participants to continue to build on their vision and move towards making it a reality. It is also an opportunity for participants to meaningfully contribute to their community by taking part in a community project that themselves and others in the group choose as a way of making their community better.
MOMENTUM+ is a 6-week program (one day a week for 6 hours). It helps participants work towards living the life they want to lead by capitalizing on their strengths and skills, supporting them with the steps in their action plan, reconnecting them with their IM&M+ group and helping them seek the support of other allies in their community.
All sessions respect that participants already have lots of life experience, skills, important connections and wisdom – that they are the expert of their own life and in control of their own future. The program is all about providing experiences and opportunities that help participants take charge and live the life they want to live.
Thank you to all our participants of In Motion and Momentum+. The program will not be running in 2022.
